The Tahkai crew made its first visit to the Coulter Conservation Area,
a piece of
riverfront recently acquired by the Eno River
Association. The Coulter property
was formerly a tree nursery, and there are
countless useful plastic pots still remaining
on site. The Eno Association was nice
enough to allow us free access to these pots,
and we did our best to excavate both useful
materials and trash. Several trees left
abandoned about 10 years ago have since grown
through their pots and remain as
reminders of the land's previous
function. Check our events page for the next volunteer
clean-up day at the Coulter Conservation Area,
hopefully over a weekend in February.
